Tartuffe
by Jean Baptiste Molière; translated by Richard Wilbur
Directed by Gus Kaikkonnen
This wickedly gleeful farce offers the story of the religious hypocrite, Tartuffe, and his designs on the affluent (and painfully gullible) Orgon. Orgon’s family must find a way to break Tartuffe’s hold on them before they lose everything – and it won’t be easy. In Tartuffe, Molière’s madcap dance of cunning plans, comic irrationality and extremities, the question is: what will win the day – blind faith or common sense?
