Founded in 1984 by Shepard Sobel and Joanne Camp, The Pearl Theatre Company delves into the great plays of the classical repertory armed with shared experience and passionate teamwork.

The Resident Acting Company greets the challenges of classical repertory bolstered by season-specific training and craft-building. They are a seasoned group of performers who have trained at some of the most prestigious conservatories in the world, and been honored with Tony®, Obie, Drama Desk, and numerous other awards and nominations.

The versatility and talent of this award-winning group of artists have been instrumental in The Pearl receiving an Obie grant for continued artistic excellence, two Drama League nominations for outstanding play, Century Center’s only “Bear” Award bestowed on a company, and an American Theatre Wing grant for consistent commitment to excellence in the professional theatre.
