The Pearl is now accepting applications for Fall 2013 & Spring 2014 Internships!
Pearl Interns are a valuable part of the continued success of the theatre and it is our intention to offer practical, well-rounded experience to current baccalaureate students and early career professionals. Please note, we are unable to provide housing for any interns.

ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNSHIPS (Fall 2013-Spring 2014)
Submission Requirements: Cover Letter, Resume & Writing Sample (max. 500 words). A commitment of 20 hours or more per week is preferred. School credit is available.
General Management Intern (Part-Time, unpaid-credit available)
Works closely with the Managing Director on projects related to company management, contracting, board support, budgeting/planning, and special projects as assigned. Good time management skills and attention to detail required. A strong interest in theater management/producing or non-profit management is a plus.
Development Intern (Part-Time, unpaid-credit available)
Works closely with the Managing Director and Campaign Consultant on projects related to donor acknowledgement, grant proposals, audience cultivation initiatives, and fundraisers & special events. Good writing skills and attention to detail required. Interest in non-profit fundraising and development is a plus.
Marketing Intern (Part-Time, unpaid-credit available)
Works closely with the Marketing Director on projects related to advertising, social media presence, graphic and web design, and special events assistance. Good proofreading and editing skills required, technological savvy/skills are a plus.
PRODUCTION INTERNSHIPS (/Fall 2013-Spring 2014)
Submission Requirements: Cover Letter, Technical Resume & Contact Information for 2 References.
Production Assistants (Full-Time, $200/wk stipend) Availability: Three interns Spring 2014
Work closely with Stage Manager(s), Production Manager, and Technical Director and other production personnel during the course of the season. Involved in the entire production process from pre-production through close, duties may include rehearsal assistance (prompting, paperwork, set-up & tear-down, blocking notation), running crew, operating light and sound boards, troubleshooting and implementing basic repairs and other performance-related responsibilities. Support stage management team for Pearl Events. STAGE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE AND/OR TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
Costume/Wardrobe Intern (Full-Time, $200/wk stipend) Availability: One intern Spring 2014
Work closely with the Costume Shop Manager, Costume Designer(s), Stage Manager(s), production personnel, and artists. Responsibilities would include costume construction, wardrobe & wig prep & maintenance, and performance dressing & quick changes. MUST HAVE SEWING SKILLS.
Production Management Intern (Part-Time, unpaid-credit available) Availability: Two interns per term; Spring, and Summer 2014
Work closely with the Production Manager, Stage Manager(s), and other production personnel in assisting with production tasks and responsibilities. Tasks would include production scheduling & coordination, facilities management, off-site builds, load-ins & tech maintenance, and production materials acquisition. MUST HAVE CORE KNOWLEDGE OF TECHNICAL THEATER.
Costume Design Intern (Part-Time, unpaid-credit available) Availability: One intern per production; Spring ONLY
Work closely with the Costume Designer(s), Costume Shop Manager, and Production Manager in theatrical costume design and construction. Assist in the planning, construction and completion of designs, including shopping, sewing, and pattern-making. MUST HAVE SEWING SKILLS.
